It's a tradition. Every year at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's it's the same question: who is going to order the pies from here and how many to order. You can't order one custard pie, because it will be gone before every one gets to try a piece. This is a small, local bakery, and if you don't go before noon most likely they will have sold out of what you'd like.
