I used to eat at Ichiban a lot. Their food is very good. Price is about normal. The lights are dim, the Japanese music is playing and they have a wonderful sushi bar, with GREAT sushi chefs.
The service is pretty good. I only had 1 problem 1 time. I was eating dinner with someone who was not of asian decent, and the waiter just so happened to ignore her completely. We thought it was nothing to worry about, but when we finally got to order, he kept messing up the order: coke instead of diet coke, beef instead of chicken.
Their food is great, but because of that experience, it is hard to go back there. I have since found another Japanese restaurant to eat at.
