Expect to pay dealership prices, and get an Attituted. If your car needs some help? If it has the ability to pass this place, then do it. 8/13/2005

I have been to this place a couple of times. After being recommended by a co-worker. Both times I was utterly disappointed with the staff and price I had to pay. The first time I had my timing belt replaced along with the water pump on my late model import. The quoted cost ended up being tossed out the door as the extras started to add up (mostly labor that I could not verify.) The price paid was about $100 more than the dealership quoted me “out the door”. I noticed later that I was charged the book rate for the timing belt replacement and the book time on the water pump. BOTH can be done at the same time with no increase in time needed. I gave them another chance. This time a computer controlling the cruise control had stopped working and I needed it fixed. They told me it would be a minimum of 3 hours to take apart the dash to get to the computer and troubleshoot. They got the car at 8am and said it would be done by 5pm. After hearing nothing for hours I called at 3pm. They have not even looked at it yet! Remember they said it would take 3 hours to take apart the dash. I asked if it would be done by 5 and the guy said sure. At 4:30 I had to call again and they said they would need it another day. I have to call again at noon on day 2. But by then they said the found the problem and it would be $350 to replace the computer. At this point I knew they were taking me for an expensive ride because I had already priced out the computer. Direct from Acura the price was $250 and I had found a discount dealership site on the internet pricing it at $215. I told them thanks, but no thanks. I will be in to pick it up. The damage? $250 diagnostic charge. When questioned about the high charge they stated they had to take the dash apart to reach the computer. Hmmmm…. That night I found a used computer on ebay for $20. When the computer came I found out these guys took me to the cleaners. No need to take the dash apart… the computer is mounted on the kick board of the drivers side. One nut and one universal plug. 10 mins to remove and replace. Avoid this place. I have yet to find another to replace them, but good thing I have a import and very little problems. more
