United House Wrecking used to be a treasure trove of odd and unusual artifacts and architectural fixtures. It was a place to encounter old magazines, garden statues, and any number of one-of-a-kind items.
Since then they have undergone a physical transformation: enlarging their business and eliminating the funky in exchange for the upscale.
They now have interior designers on premises and advertise a line of brand new leather furniture. For me some of the sense of serendipity in exploring is gone and that is a major loss for this area.
