La Hacienda is open quite late, although I don't really know precisely what time they close. All I know is, it's a place to go when you have the late-night munchies, or when you are bored with the selection of restaurants in Madison and looking for that kitschy Mexican atmosphere. I give this place two thumbs up for their free tortilla chips and very fresh salsa.
The combination parillada (large) is enough to feed 4 ravenous girls and we would still have a bit leftover while the flame still flickers under the metal tray to keep it all that meat and potatoes sizzling. At $28, we leave the place satiated... smelling of smoke from the barbecued meat.
