Talk about variety!! They are a strictly vegetarian (even Jain and Swaminarayan choices) Indian restaurant. The menu offers a wide variety: North Indian, Gujarati (and how many Indian restaurants do that!?), South Indian, snacks, and sweets choices.
The Sambhar (South Indian lentil soup) is to die for! and the Frankie's and Dabeli's make you feel like you're in Mumbai somewhere, standing on the side of the road in the rain, enjoying the best of the city's "street cuisine". My husband is addicted to the Pau Bhaji and keeps bugging me get the recipe and learn it. As if!
There's also a really wide variety of sweets and snacks.
Owned by a sweet couple, the foods always consistent and the prices reasonable. Maybe that's why the decor is so casual; it's like home. On a street with dozens of casual food choices, this one stands out for taste! If you're not familiar with Indian cuisine, ask the owner to help you choose.
ps: Cannot smoke or bring your own beer/wine.
