"While the food is not flashy, it is consistent and good. My favorite things to order here are the clam chowder (haven't had any better - even on the East Coast), whatever fresh fish is available (I ask the food server), the Bud's Beef - which is amazing, and the Chicken Marsala. The salads are great, too. For dessert, the cheesecake is outstanding, as is the flan and the pots de creme. I also love to come here for Sunday Brunch -- their scrambles, quiche and eggs benedict are awesome.
Stockton is not the Bay Area and the restaurants unfortunately have to cater to their demographic. Some of these reviews are unfair. I've had my share of overpriced and underwhelming meals in SF. Bud's is a gem and one of the few family owned restaurants still standing in Stockton among the many crappy chains that have opened."
