You wouldn't really know it from the outside, or from the name, but Mechanics Hall in Worcester is a beautiful place to hear a performance. Several months ago I saw a group of choruses from the local colleges perform the Carmina Burana, and the acoustics were great. Pretty pictures and carvings on the walls, too. It was only five or ten dollars, but I guess that depends on who's performing. A wonderful atmosphere.
