If you are on your way to Aspen from Denver (or vice versa) don't miss out on brunch/lunch at the Village Smithy. On Main Street in Old Town Carbondale, this has been a local fixture since the early 1970s. The restaurant is always busy and the buzz is lighthearted. The food is awesome - large servings are standard Colorado brunch fair with a TexMex twist. The McHeuvos is spectacular, as is everything else I've ever had there. Even though it's always busy, the service is fast and efficient. Yum.
