Lena's Cafe features some of the best Italian food I've had outside my Italian Grandmother's kitchen. At first glance, one may not realize what a treasure this restaurant is. The outside is a drab yellow brick building, and the inside is sparsely decorated with paneling and red vinyl booths. But the food more than makes up for the lack of atmosphere. Even a plain plate of spaghetti is made wonderful with Lena's delicious homemade sauce and meatballs. The highlight of the menu is the Lasagna, served only on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The loyal customer base alone is testament to the quality of the restaurant; with minimal advertising Lena's draws a steady crowd at both lunch and dinner. Be forewarned to bring cash, because Lena's doesn't accept credit cards.
