VCU is so diverse! The students come from every kind of background, speaking many different languages, practicing different religions, and majoring in anything from sculpture or interior design to mechanical or biomedical engineering to mathematics or physics to english or urban studies. Not only will students get a state-of-the-art education in their classes, but they will also gain a wealth of knowledge in learning about other cultures just from the friends they make. The campus is safe, the professors are top-notch, especially in the mathematics and statistics departments. Service-learning courses are especially eye-opening, and VCU offers quite a few of them. There is always something going on to promote intercultural understanding and fellowship. The food court has pretty good food, too -- especially the Subway.
