The food is decent, not exceptional and average overall for the price you pay. The service is always good and its small town setting and warm ambiance are probably its best features. The cuisine is not within a standard defined category, but they do offer a unique selection. For a brief small town reprieve from the big city, it's within about 1/2 hours drive North of Los Angeles, 10 minutes from Pasadena, and 1/2 hours drive South of San Fernando. Seating is a bit cozy and close quartered so if you're claustrophobic, you may want to steer clear of peak hours. There are lots of dining choices within a two block radius of Ocean View Blvd., and this is just one of them, but it's a good one :-)
