I was impressed by the Natural History Museum. It has a wonderful family atmosphere with activities and exhibits that interest all ages. They have recently added a butterfly garden that is outstanding. Visitors can walk through a small tropical rainforest type area filled with different types of butterflies, ranging from monachs to south american beauties. Although this is impressive, my favorite part was and still is "the cave," a realistic representation of what a cave would look like, inlcuding the animals that dwell in them. The Natural History Museum is also in a wonderful location; its neighbors include the Harn Museum of Art and the Performing Arts Center. A good 20 minute walk down the road brings the visitor to Lake Alice, a huge lake filled with the notorious Florida Alligator.
