St Catherine Of Alexandria Parochial School 8/4/2005

I have fond memories of this school because this is where my education began. I attended from kindergarten up until the 4th grade. I was upset when I had to leave because my mother could no longer afford to send me here. My three older sisters all graduated from this school and all my friends were here as well. Looking back, however, I see it as a blessing that my mom took me out of this school. It opened my eyes to a whole new world: the public school system. Compared to the education I received at St. Catherine, public schooling was much more advanced. Also, I was able to meet new people. At St. Catherine, I was with the same kids for four years. But, what I missed were the spring and winter concerts, where every class in each grade would perform for family and teachers. For the winter concert, we'd get to sing in the church, which was so beautiful. I loved these concerts. The first Friday of every month, we'd attend mass here as well. There were a lot of other great events, including Sports Day and the Fall festival. Even with it's faults, this school remains fond in my memory (I am 21 now). This school goes up to 8th grade, but they didn't do advanced courses (like Regents math or science classes). more
