Reopened just two years ago under new management, the Louisburg Theater is a fun treat to visit. Although I prefer watching movies in the downstairs theater, which is much larger and gives you the feeling you are in the 1960s, the upstairs screen is small but quaint. Typically movies that are held over a week from their release are played on the upstairs screen. They do take credit and debit cards, but hold your money on their popcorn. You’d be better off eating a candy bar and then going home and popping a bag of popcorn in the microwave, which will be much tastier and much less expensive than a bag at the Louisburg Theater. Just don’t smuggle food in. The family who bought and repaired it deserve moviegoers who respect their “NO OUTSIDE FOOD” signs.
