I called Mr. Electric to install a new fixture in my kitchen ceiling because my other fixture had stopped working. The workers were on time, polite, and agreeable to work with. I'm happy with they work they did, but I hesitate to recommend them based on their pricing. I paid $600 for a job that I believe should be about $200. I understand that they're a larger company, but I feel a bit ripped off. The man who installed it did say it would last for years, so we'll see if over time the value will make up for this initial price. I'm cautious to recommend, but I did have a good experience overall.

We are not happy that you felt the cost was high. We constantly compare pricing to similar companies for similar services and strive to be somewhere in the middle. In this case we charged for a diagnoses and a new light fixture. We needed to be sure the fixture was the problem instead of installing a new fixture if the problem was elsewhere. Our prices on these small jobs leave little left over after expenses. If anyone offered to do it for $200 I would suspect they would be doing it illegally on the side and could cause you and the individual to face liability.
