I don't know how to rate Mr. Handyman of Huntsville because I'm having a dispute with them so I'm not sure yet. One thing was that they had a rental machine that I didn't know about that they used and apparently the machine was a rental that they owned. They used it and did a nice job and I said, how come you didn't tell me you were going to use that machine ahead of time instead of charging the $50 rental fee? If you have a tree service, you should have the tools you need instead of charging me for the rental fee. That was one thing, and I think they should have told me about the charge ahead of time, before they used it. The other thing was that they said they did the job faster by using the rotary, it's a pressure washing device and they said it would have taken several hours more to do it without it but that's not true 'cause I had someone else do it a few years ago and it only took a couple of hours. So, that estimate also wasn't accurate. The other thing was, there was some damage to the outside of the garage door and my wife said, maybe they damaged it with the machine they used but they said it was already damaged beforehand. I can't dispute that cause I wasn't watching them do the work. Anyway, the owner of the company called me and said it was old damage, so, who knows. Whether I would recommend someone else use the service, I'm not sure. I'm skeptical enough so I probably won't have them do the work to fix the damage on the garage door. I don't like people saying is going to be a certain price and then saying it's extra $50 for rental of equipment. I just wish they would have told me ahead of time. RESPONSE FROM Mr. Handyman of Huntsville: Mr. Foster scheduled a driveway to be pressure wash and to make the service quicker we used a scrubber attachment. This attachment shortens the amount of time, which also saves the customer money. If we had just used the pressure washer the job would have taken at least 2 too 3 more hours to complete the service, costing Mr. Foster more than the $50.00 in equipment rental. The equipment was our equipment, however we charge for the use of the equipment, 1 using the equipment saves time which is money, 2 the up keep on the equipment is an expense that we need to cover when we use the equipment. The damage discovered by Mrs. Foster was damage that was existing. She sent pictures of what was damaged and from that, I could tell that it was existing. I explained that I will return back out to look @ the damage in person, however haven't got there as of yet. I will make a trip out to review the damage and make a decision from there. more
