When second service call was required, technician inspected unit and saw that hose was not connected properly with a lot of oil on ground & not enough collant in a/c - technician had to reattach hose & add proper coolant. I'm thankful as I'm sure Hawthorne is as well, that newly installed a/c did not completely seize-up. Thankfully, as mentioned, my family owns a plumbing business in Orange County & that I had some knowledge in knowing to turn it off in advance. That's just plain & simple, WRONG. Upon second service call I bought a contract from Hawthorne & am hoping that nothing like this happens in the future.
