The staff is very professional and the place is clean. But oh my God are these people money hungry. \r
Once I had a suspicious bump on my tongue which could have been cancer. They said their oral surgeon (who would not come by for another 6 weeks) could take a biopsy, but I had to pay them $1,000 in advance. The implication was I could go rot and die of cancer if I didn't pay them in advance. I went to my family physician the next week instead (and there was no cancer).\r
Another time they tried to slip a $130 electric toothbrush onto my bill without my approval. Numerous times they've tried to sell me on expensive treatments (like whitening) which my dental insurance won't cover. I finally convinced them I'm too poor for the fancy stuff, so now I'm on their list of deadbeat bums not to be trusted.\r
Recently, after a cleaning, they were going to schedule me for some drilling and filling (no cavities, just some more revenue raising projects for themselves) and wanted 60% of the bill for the future work paid then and there. How cash starved are these people? I said it's my policy to pay right after the job is done. Do they think I'll jump out of the chair and run out of their office without paying?!\r
I'll be looking around for a more human focused, less money focused dental care provider.
