Alaskan Home Services checked each air conditioning and furnace unit for us. They come twice a year, and this time they put on an electrical surge protector and something else that cost $300. He told me I needed it and everything works fine. We have been calling them more than 10 years. And, out of all the years, I have only had two service people that did not meet my standards; everyone else has been good.
Their price is on the upper end. Apparently, it is worth it because I always pay. I could have gotten them cheaper from another place, but I like the Alaskan units better.
