There must have been a miscommunication between myself, the salesperson, and the installer of the new HVAC system. Most of the one piece of flex duct on the return was damaged by critters who got under the house. I was not doing this project unless the full length was replaced. I made that very clear to the salesperson. While the installed did a top notch job, he was never directed to replace all the bad duct and only replaced one section. The rest was only patched. I was told I would have an added expense within the next year or two to finish replacing the bad section. If I had known in advance the entire section would not be replaced, I would not have installed the system at all.
