The technician repaired an old, oil burner furnace that was not firing. He determined the spark electrode spacing needed adjusting. I told him in the beginning we had already cleaned the furnace for the coming winter season. We had also determined that oil flow was good and that it was an electrical problem. However, he insisted on checking the oil flow and cleaning the furnace. Only after doing that did he check the electrical problem and found the electrode issue. Thus, the service took twice as long as needed and he charged us for cleaning the furnace. Thus the bill was twice as much as I expected. Also the technician seemed inexperienced.
