The good: comfortable beds & pillows, great AC (during an August heat-wave), clean-ish room and bathroom, okay breakfast choices, free wi-fi.\r
\r
The bad: roommate's cosmetics kit (looked like pill-box) was unzipped and rifled through (presumably looking for drugs). I had cash stolen from my purse, which could only have been taken by the cleaning staff. We brought this to the attention of the manager on duty when we checked out, and I then documented everything (including specific times and dates) via email within a week.\r
\r
I've now been in communication with management for nearly 3 months now, although they've ignored me for the past few weeks. At first, I was promised a refund of the stolen money, by more than one person.\r
As of today, the refund has failed to materialize. I made my concerns known to IHG Care, and while that prompted a few more emails with hotel management, at this point it's plain they're not going to come forward and make things right, having suddenly cited a hotel policy that items left in room are not covered. Why not tell me that when I let them know about this in the beginning of August?\r
\r
So here's the thing! You get what you pay for. This is a cheap hotel for the area. I'm guessing the staff are not well paid. And if they get treated anything like the management treats clients, I can hardly blame them. But be very, very careful with your things. For the price we paid, I expected at the very least that our rooms would be a safe place to leave our belongings.\r
\r
The takeaway: this is a fine place to stay in the area IF, and only if, NOTHING goes wrong with your stay. If something goes wrong with your stay, specifically regarding a billing issue, you're completely on your own, and you can expect to be trapped in an infinity loop of phone calls and emails, which will never resolve in your favor.\r
\r
Note: I'd GLADLY remove this review if the hotel decides to make things right. Posting this was a last resort, after weeks of alternately being lied to and ignored.
