Be careful when you make a purchase. Some cashiers are scammers. I recently made a purchase and used an American Express gift card. I used the balance on the gift card and while I was getting the remaining balance, the cashier through away the gift card. I needed the gift card in case I had to return an item, but it was too late as she already cut the card. I eventually had to return the item I bought as I received the item as a gift from a friend. When I went to return the item I asked if the balance I paid with the American Express gift card can be put on a Best Buy gift card, since I no longer had the original card. The response was NO and now I lost all that money. There's no way American Express can reimburse me for that money.\r

Hopefully Best Buy goes out of business soon since this scam is probably part of their way to make more money from the few customers who still shop there.
