The psychiatrists at this clinic may be good, but sadly I will not be returning in order to find out. It was easy to book an appointment and the wait was short; however, I wasted time, PTO and money by going to this appointment. I have many symptoms from depression and anxiety to past trauma, cancer (just last year) and hormonal changes due to having my thyroid removed. I was booked with their nurse practitioner. I was already very hesitant since she is not a psychiatrist, but I decided to give it a chance. \r \r The introduction I received was that the present medication I take causes dementia (no warmth or concern for establishing a rapport with me), due to a study the nurse had read in the British Medical Journal. I read the study afterwards and the authors show no causal link between my medication and dementia, and they even admit this in the article. There have been no other studies that conclude this to be true. \r \r Besides the run of the mill questionnaire about my symptoms, this talk of me getting dementia took a large part of our session. She referred me to a psychiatrist in her clinic because she refused to help me with a slow taper off of my medication. She wrote me a script for only two weeks. She assured me that I could get an evening appointment with the other psychiatrist.\r \r When I checked out, this was not true- so essentially I spent an hour trying to get help, only to be told my medication would cause dementia and walk out with a script for 2 weeks with no visit to the referred psychiatrist because I cannot leave work.\r \r I was terribly disappointed and still am. more
