My electrical system red light came on while hauling a trailer. I proceeded with my job, hoping the truck would keep running. It did! I took the truck straight to my service adviser, MC. Resulting testing showed my alternator was bad. But MC and his diesel tech kept looking. Upon dis-assembly of the alternator, a bad wire within the alternator was discovered. They performed a bypass procedure that worked...and saved me from having to replace the alternator. Most shops (I believe) would have simply replaced the alternator. THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. more
