I spent about a year riding at Summerwind, and fell in love with some of the horses while I was there. Unfortunately I was driven away by the drama, the overpricing, and the hostility from a trainer. Said trainer lost her temper with anyone who did something wrong in the barn, talked down to people, and her sportsmanship was laughable. I frequently left in tears when I finished a lesson, and was horrified to be treated as badly as I was. Furthermore, there were a few incidents that showed me that safety is not a huge factor when it could affect the bottom line. People were asked to handle horses that were aggressive and/or prone to bolting without any disclosure as to the nature of the horse. I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The fact that the only positive rating here is from the business owner is very telling.
