Worst dental experience ever. My wife and I decided to try Aspen out because a friend of ours and recommended them. We had a great dentist who was expensive, but now I see the extra money is worth it. We made the initial appointment, and we're told that we would have to schedule a cleaning after the appointment. This really doesn't make any sense, normally the hygienist cleans my teeth, then they do x-rays and the dentist checks everything out. Instead at Aspen dental they lure you in with ""free initial check and x-rays"" and then make you come back weeks later for a cleaning. I have limited time, and didn't appreciate making 2 appointments for something that could be done in an hour at other places. \r
All that being said, things got even worse. In the initial visit my wife and I both felt like cattle being pushed around. There is absolutely no personal interest shown to with of us. The hygienist was extremely rude and rough, she should not be allowed to work on people's mouths. When we were finished with our ""initial vist"" we were ""prodded"" into the managers office who discussed our payment options and set up the second needless visit. We left feeling like we had just wasted 3 hours of our lives, and had actually thought about skipping the second appointment and going to a real dentist. We should have done that.\r
On our second visit, much to our dismay, we got the same hygeinist. She was even worse this time. This is the visit when they will actually clean our teeth. I have never had such an uncomfortable experience in my life. I've had several dental procedures done, but this simple cleaning was by far the worst. The hygeinist was very rough and extremely rude. She made me hold the little suction thing. That was extremely awkward, she had the chair barely off the ground with my head lower than the rest of my body, and now I have to hold the suction thing while trying not to get in her way (lord only knows how she would have reacted). Several times I was literally chocking on water, and she continued to hack away at my teeth. One time I moved ever so slightly because I was choking, and the hygeinist said ""you need to stop moving"". After she hacked away for a while she offered the fluoride treatment. She said it was included in the cost of the cleaning. (In fact she told both my wife and I that lie). It's actually an additional $36. The fluoride treatment is disgusting. It's painted on and makes you look like you haven't brushed in 3 years. It makes you feel disgusting, it tastes disgusting, and you can't eat or drink afterwards for 3 hours. (At least that's what the hygeinist told us). We ended up going home and brushing the $36 right off. My wife's experience was far worse. She had the same treatment in the cleaning, but also needed 2 cavities filled. The fillings were terrible, rushed, and the dentist left a rough spot that cut into my wife's tounge for a week. Now the teeth they worked on hurt. We called to complain and the manager wants us to come back in to assess the issue. She never apologized for the major inconvenience and was very condescending on the phone. \r
All this being said, why would we go back to have them hack away at my wife's teeth again? Next time we will spend the extra money and go to a real dentist, not the hacks at aspen dental. Stay very far away, don't fall for their ""low price guarantee or the ""free initial vist and x-Rays"". They are just a lure to get you in the door. The service is bad, the experience is terrible, and you will regret every minuet.
