BIRD OWNERS, BEWARE of "so called" Avian specialist/Vet Dr. Shaw of Chesapeake Vet Hospital in Chester Maryland. They are HORRIBLE, Price gouging X10 extremely overpriced for inadequate services, horribly inexperienced in avian medicine I don't believe they are avian specialists at all. They almost killed my bird recently on 11/12/14 and most certainly would have had I followed their suggested "non-treatment" treatment plan costing $121 for nothing. It started when I was asked to drop my bird off since Dr Shaw was booked and my bird was so sick, since I was an existing customer and my bird an existing patient, I did as instructed. After 6 hours had passed I was told all was well and to pick-up my bird. The charge for this days services ( actually non-service).. $121 . $30 of this charge was for a petri dish of cane sugar mixed w/tap water that my poor bird was too sick to drink, yet they claimed they saw her drink and showed no signs of illness and the additional $91 was for the appa
