I have read the reviews and regarding some of the negative comments that I read, they need to be cleared up. This is a hard core psych facility that does not discriminate against patients based on their acuity or level of care. With that being said there are many very sick patients there. Unfortunately I don't know of a facility that separates pts based on how sick they are. I know it's not the Hilton but staff works really hard to maintain a safe and clean environment. That is a full time job. Staff is very aware of the behaviors of the patients. Patients are placed on precautions based on the presenting behaviors to keep all safe. I work there and I am extremely proud of my co-workers. Patient care is the most important part of our jobs. Granted we do have times when the unit is in disarray. This is secondary to patients that are destructive. When we have these patients, we don't discharge them because of the behaviors that have not been stabilized with medications. We fix, clean, scrub or whatever it takes to maintain the units. We do this without complaint. We know that there are patients that cannot control their behaviors and we still give them the best care No it's not the Hilton, insurance does not cover that, and most if the time the patient is there on the social security disability that the working community pays for, and their care is at no cost. So my suggestion is if it is that terrible go to Passages in Malibu. It's only $10,000 per day. I'm sure that their curtains hang straight. We have plenty of patients that come there get stabilized and return to normal lives. So since you have a psychological illness educate yourself on facilities that meet your standards. We have no problems filling beds with patients that appreciate our care. Best of luck on your journey to a healthy mind and body.
