Excellent service at Avenue Automotive 1/7/2014

I was going from Houston TX on Sunday in my 2008 Chevy Suburban to be at work in Dallas TX on Monday morning. When I was near Ennis TX there was rubbing sound and the ABS and Traction control lights came on. The sound was so bad that I did not feel safe to drive my 2008 Chevy Suburban any further. The time by now was after 6:30 PM and I knew all the auto repair shops would be closed, so I found the La Quinta Inn and Suites near the off ramp. When I pulled up to the La Quinta Inn, there was only three cars in the parking lot, so I thought there might be something wrong with the place. The outside of the La Quinta Inn looked very good and when I went inside the lobby looked very nice, The man at the front desk was very helpful and the room rate was lower than I had expected. I got a room and started checking out reviews on the internet. First I check reviews for the local Chevy dealer and found the reviews were not good. The best reviews I found were for Avenue Automotive at 200 E Ennis Avenue. Ennis, TX 75119 . I checked the Google maps and found that Avenue Automotive was close enough to the La Quinta Inn that I would try and drive my 2008 Chevy Suburban to the repair shop. The next morning I called them just after 8:00 AM and explained the problem to the man on the phone, he told me that I could bring it in now and they would take a look at it. When I got to the shop I was helped right away. After I was seated they told me that they had snacks and beverages for their customers. I did find that they have a small refrigerator filled with a variety of soda pop and some bottled water, also a big box filled with a variety of snacks, chips and a cooler filled with ice cream type snacks. At Avenue Automotive they have a corner of the waiting room set up with toys for small children to play with and plenty of magazines to read. I did not check to see if they have a WiFi hotspot, but it would be nice if the could hook up a computer nook for customer use while they are waiting. They found that the wheel bearings had fell out on the front driver side wheel and the axle nut was the only thing holding the wheel on. If I had known that I would have had AAA tow the 2008 Chevy Suburban to Avenue Automotive. At Avenue Automotive they did take me back to the repair bay and show me the problem, so I could understand the repair before they gave me the estimate of repair cost. I did hear them calling around to get parts cost and they did tell me that they were able to save me over $200 dollars by getting the parts in a kit. They got the repair done and me back on the road before it was time for me to check out of the La Quinta Inn. They say "We are a local garage focused on friendly, reliable service with fair and reasonable prices and our goal is simply to provide a truthful estimate of your car's needs and get you back on the road as quickly as possible" In my case I have found this to be a true statement and I would use them again if I lived near Avenue Automotive. more
