Simply said: DO NOT GO THERE! I had several cars washed and detailed there in the past and I was usually satisfied with their work. This has changed recently. After buying a new (pre-owned) car a week ago, I took it to Rainbow Car Wash to have it washed and detailed. I paid $150 for the super uber whatever package and expected an acceptable job of cleaning and detailing. Well, unlike the times before with different cars, I didn't get what I expected. The detailing guys didn't clean the adhesive-residue on the rear window (where the ""for sale"" sign had been"". There were watermarks on the windows and mirrors and lots of spots of some engine-cleaner they had used. Those spots are on the front mask and the fenders and they don't go away and Rainbow Car Wash didn't see any reason, to take care of it. OK, so it was a crappy job and yes that can happen. But the worst part was that my car didn't run right when I picked it up. In fact it was shattering and misfiring terribly. I went back to the Car Wash people immediately and they seemed to have quite some experience with customer-troubles after an engine-cleaning. The manager ""Oscar"" sent me to a repair shop on 17th street where their guys would take care of the problems. I went there and it turned out that the (very friendly) mechanic there couldn't fix the problem. HE said his boss wasn't there, he didn't have any parts and I should come back the next day. Unfortunately I need my car for work and I need it to work as it did before I took it to Rainbow Car Wash. So I went back to ""Oscar"" the Wash-Manager and told him that I would have to take the car to the next capable repair shop, which I did. I went to Ford of Orange where they found out that the car wash must have used a high pressure cleaner on the engine. Several of the ignition coils were soaked and one so badly that it was damaged and needed to be replaced. After all the repair did cost me $373.45 Today I went back to Rainbow Car Wash, to talk to Manager Oscar. I told him what had happened, what Ford had found out and showed him the repair bill over 373.45. I told him that I do not expect Rainbow Car Wash to pay for the whole bill. I told him that I would accept it, if they just refund the $150 for the wash-job, which had been crappy to begin with. Sure enough, Mr. Oscar Manager refused to compromise. Instead he offered me a ""Hand-Wash"" priced below $50... I think that my request, to just refund the 150.00 for the crappy car-wash job and in return forget about the $373.45 repair bill was more than reasonable. The car had been smogged at a smog only station only 72 hours before the car wash guys laid their hands on it and the car di not show any signs of problems at all. I understand that accidents can happen, that the crew might have had a bad day. But offering a merely $50 wash-job for screwing big time up in the first place is simply an insult. I promised Senior Oscar that I will warn other potential customers and that's what I am doing now. There is another car wash down the street on 17th and there is a self-Car-wash on Westminster Ave. nearby. So it's not like this place has no competition. ""Under New Management"" does not necessarily mean a change for the better. I have learned this lesson the expensive way. Be wise and avoid Rainbow Car Wash. Go someplace else!
