We have been fans of the Outback for years, but just the other day we went to the Texas Roadhouse in Elk Grove and found out what a real steak tastes like for the same money.. 20 ounce Rib eye, bone-in and an inch plus thick....yummy! beyond wonderful.....As for the OUTBACK....lately I have never gotten a rib eye cooked the way I ordered it at 2 Outbacks we frequented lately. Always over cooked...and they keep getting thinner and thinner...and lighter and lighter...use to offer a 14 ounce rib eye, now it is 13 ounces if I can believe that to look at the steak..and about a half inch thick..shame shame...and priced at over 20 bucks to boot..remember to tell the waiter to pace your meal...or you will be getting the appetizer with your steak, or your steak before the appetizer. The waiters are on a timed service so they can turn their tables fast and get another family in your place quickly..(more then one waiter has spilled the beans on that one). They seem nervous if you lolly after eating...not a relaxed meal...and the check comes before you are done eating with a smile...funny you have to ask for refills and more bread if you can intercept your waiter as they run by...and I found it funny that a friend who is from Australia says they have no Outbacks down under...food for thought...Drive a bit to the Roadhouse in Elk Grove and be happy happy!!! My husband still raves about the soup and the drinks though..I guess something has to be good there... more
