I chose Clark Automotive as our auto repair shop over 10 years ago. I worked as an auto mechanic and a service writer so I knew what to look for in terms of equipment, support, techs and price. Prior to Clark Automotive I did my own maintenance, however I was now looking to have a shop maintain my vehicles instead. I wanted a ""by the book"" mechanic not a hack mechanic. I have been satisfied with my choice. The question about a shop is not if they are perfect, if you go to a good shop for over 10 years eventually something will happen that does not go as expected. The question is, when something does not go as expected will the shop take ownership. How will you be treated when things are not right. When it's hard, will the shop step up. I disagree with Mike S that the owner talks down to people and bullies people. I have not experienced shady business practices and I have the knowledge to know if I had. As far as the owner's character, it has been my experience that he lives his christian values.He has shown me that he is not a hypocrite, quite the contrary. Even when it is hard due to cost or time he has treated me honorably.
