We hired Gilmans Kitchens and Bath to do a considerable project for us. Our house is built on part of a hillside so our main area of our house, which is street level, is where we started. We had them do our kitchen and two bathrooms. They rewired the house and put in new pipes. The house was built in '48 and nothing had really been upgraded. We're doing this in a two-phase project and we lived on-site when they were doing the work
The design process went well. The workmanship was meticulous. They were willing to work with us on little changes. We added crown molding. The plaster walls needed to be replastered. The drywall needed to be repaired and repainted. Someone needed to sand and refinish all the hardwood floors. The bathrooms were completed gutted and redone. The kitchen is gorgeous. The bathrooms came out better than we thought they would.
The only concern I had was that the project took longer than originally planned. I understand why. There was a support beam that had been cut by a previous owner and they had to replace it. There were various other odds and ends done. A door was removed and filled in. There was also stucco work done on the outside of the house to take care of that. Workmanship was excellent.
It was a much bigger project than just kitchen and baths. I took the entire team of Gilmans Kitchens and Bath. They were very good. We are still a current client.
Overall, they are very good. They are responsive. Unlike some entities, they do not try to force their design onto the customer. If there was a way of working what the customer wants into the plan, they are willing to do it. The design side of the team has a real eye for color and design. I appreciated it and their willingness to work with me. I recommend them.
