Walnut Creek Dental in Westminster Colorado - Good at first but then bad after continued visits. Had a small filling, I mean small, but my insurance picked up most of the cost. A week later lots of pain, so I called and was given an antibiotic and pain meds. Seemed to clear it up, but was told if it is an infection it will come back and should see the dentist again. I was having a lot of pain from my tooth with the filling in my jaw and ear. Went back and the dentist and was told to see the Endodontist who only comes in on Tuesdays. I wait to see him the next week with pain and another prescription. On the day of my appointment I was given the quote for the root canal and I waited 1 hour for the Endodontist. I got in there he was rude and in a hurry. Did not evaluate me, only evaluated my x-ray of the tooth that looked and said if it is sensitive to hot I need a root canal and a crown. He was so busy he would not be able to do it for a couple of weeks. That's it?? So, I went back to the front asked for the quote for a crown (if you get a root canals you need a crown too and should have been given the quote for the crown too) the new quote with insurance came to a total of $2400. I paid that for my last root canal without insurance at Perfect Teeth in south Boulder. I decided to go back to Boulder for A SECOND OPINION and was examined thoroughly. X-ray looks really good, tooth sensitivity tested and responding normally but the pulp could be inflamed due to the filling. Good news, I do not need and should not have a root canal. Was put on a 7 day treatment of consistently taking ibuprofen to calm down the inflammation and allow the pulp to heal its self. The dentist explained to me new dentistry standards show root canals are a very very last resort. \r
