I went to the ER complaining, specifically, of the symptoms of congestive heart failure. After every expensive test they could run they told me nothing was wrong and sent me home, and gave me discharge instructions that told me to come back if I was having the exact symptoms I had come in with. They refused to give me a diuretic to reduce the significant swelling in my hands and feet and fluid in the lungs. It wasn't until the next day when I was home and reading the lab reports that I discovered the physician reading my x-ray films had diagnosed me with an enlarged heart and congestive heart failure - exactly what I told them was wrong with me when I came in. I got better care from the free clinic.
