I have never dealt with a company so asinine. I just moved into my house, and they held me hostage to either pay a $1000 prepayment OR get my electricity cut off on my wife and 3 little boys. Their reasoning, my credit score was 5% lower than they want. Now, just so you understand, I make over 6 figures. I just bought a $300,000 house and was qualified by the bank despite the extra stringent requirements banks have since the implosion years ago. I spent $15,000 on putting energy upgrades into the house...I have very little debt because I believe in paying cash...but my credit is so bad that they need a prepayment of $1000 for ""their protection"" to make sure I pay my payments on time, and if I don't, I lose that money. And in the meantime, I won't get my money back for OVER A YEAR.\r

If you are in an area of Wylie where you have a choice between electric companies (I am not), then choose StarTexPower or anyone else you can. These guys are a ripoff and treat their customers like crap.
