Let's begin with the below 3 reviews; they're fake. Dead giveaway is that they're all written on same day on March 14, 2010. The chance of that happening when these are the only reviews is more than suspicious.\r

When I initially brought in my size 4 designer clothes that were in excellent like new condition (I had a scheduled appointment) I was surprised by how sloppy the store looked. It is VERY crowded. It's not like walking into a boutique but rather shopping at The Salvation Army with racks upon racks of clothes spilling off hangers. The only thing that appeared to be separated by designer were the handbags that were stuffed into a glass case. All clothing items were smashed onto long racks without any real rhyme or reason. Thus to shop & find anything would be incredibly difficult. \r

Designers consigning included Tory Burch, Coach, Milly, Tahari, Lacoste, etc. Most items they didn't take...""well the Tory Burch (worn literally 3 times) espadrilles have been worn so we can't take them"" & other equally silly statements. They were in EXCELLENT condition. \r

Some items they did take. I was however never provided an itemized list of what I was leaving for them to sell. Thus they could easily misplace or sell an item and you're left in the dark as you have nothing to prove you left an item with them. \r

Unfortunately I got a call a week later now telling me they didn't want anything & I need to come back into the store a 2nd time to pick up my designer clothes.\r

This past week I went back into the store to retrieve my things & again was confronted with a disheveled packed store with I'm going to guess size 20 very cheap looking flowing and brightly colored/loud patterned polyester tops literally displayed on mannequins all over the store. They were on top of clothing racks blocking your view into the store. I believe a consignment store should have a sampling of various sizes - but when one size of the same cheap polyester 1980s top is displayed in numerous locations throughout the store - that gives you an idea of what they're selling. After all if you walked in & they only displayed size 0 most people would leave.\r

They returned my clothes with a slip stating ""a style that doesn't sell."" Some of these items included your standard summer basics like perfectly tailored white (lined & not see thru) cuffed Banana Republic pants, Coach silk scarves, & various summer tops from Lacoste, BCBG, Ralph Lauren, Tahari, etc. They even asked if the Coach silk scarves were real - any consignment store should be able to easily identify fakes - after all how can you trust what they're selling is authentic - if they can't even spot a fake?\r

Upside to this I found Poshmark. It's a consignment store/iPhone app that's 8 million times better than eBay & What 2 Wear. (Rolling out to more Smartphones & online soon) Not only do they only take 20% (vs. What 2 Wear's 50%), your items stay for sale as long as you like without any additional fee. The buyer pays shipping. There are designer or type specific ""shopping parties"" 3 times every day to join where you can sell your items, too. It's just as secure as PayPal. In the last few weeks I've sold roughly 30 pieces from my designer closet. It's a free app that only takes 20% of your sale.\r

If you're curious as to the type of items What 2 Wear turned down from me - the fashion creative director who created the Calvin Klein underwear ad campaign with Marky Mark hired me to work in Manhattan on her client Vera Wang - that should be a good indication of my sense of style. \r
