Doubt any of the Dr's read your child's charts before entering the room. We moved to VA with 3 older children; all healthy. For them the office was fine because we luckily never had sick visits. My daughter was born here in VA. We started with Chippenham Ped for her from delivery.. BIG MISTAKE. Our daughter was premature & at 6 weeks our breast feed baby started having diapers full of blood. The best advice we got from a Dr. at Chippenham Ped. was, "" I don't know, let's refer you to a specialist"" (which we appreciated & respected.) We were sent to a GI specialist who said our daughter's case was text book dairy/soy allergy; just extreme. She was placed on prescription formula at 6 weeks while I changed my diet to exclude dairy/soy so I could continue to nurse but use the formula to supplement. At age 1 we tried the transition to dairy/soy as is protocol. Long story short we had a very sick little girl and the symptoms continued to spread to skin issues and EXTREME diaper rashes, skin irritations, etc. She was on anti-biotics for months straight trying to clear these issues along with steroid creams, etc. We could not set immunization dates due to her illnesses & the office policy to not give shots to children when they are on anti-biotics. She visited Chippenham Ped. almost bi-weekly for an extended time. We never saw the same Dr., they all had different ideas/approaches that were not consistent. This is the short story of our final visit to Chippenham Ped.: At previous doctor visit there we were instructed our baby go back to GI specialist to continue prescription formula; but for toddlers. She has been on this prescription formula since 6 weeks old. At that visit I had forgotten to get the referral while at the office. Our daughter was still on an anti-biotic, 6th follow up visit for same issue, behind on vaccines due to constant anti-biotics/illness, My husband attended this visit and saw DR. ALICE M. CONDRO, whom refused to write us the referral our health insurance required to have our daughter seen by the Ped. G.I. specialist stating that she would only do it when our daughter was up to date on her shots. My husband tried to reason with her and explain the reasoning for her being behind on shots and that our daughter has been in the hospital 4 times due to her GI issues which the formula had resolved. She still refused to write the referral which meant that our baby was unable to be seen by her specialist the next day for the continuation of her medically necessary prescription formula. I went to the GI appointment anyway & their jaws dropped when I explained what happened and why I showed up empty handed with no referral. I literally broke down in tears unsure of how to nourish her until we could get her prescription refilled as I no longer was nursing & her diet is so limited. I was advised by the specialist's office to report Dr. Condro to Anthem, our health ins. company & have her primary changed. They also contacted Chippenham Ped. making them aware our daughter had to be seen by them asap. Dr. Condro called our home later on and continued to argue with my husband how she was trying to do what was best for our daughter but in retrospect would have written the referral when we were in the office. I have never been so disgusted in my life with a doctor. She was punishing our baby for what she believed was us not wanting to vaccinate her. We have spent over $10,000.00 (this is not a typo) in medical bills related to our daughter since birth, I went dairy/soy free to nurse my baby, clearly we have her best interest in heart DR. Condro or we wouldn't have been in front of you asking for your help only to be denied. more
