My daughter's car would not start and was over 15 miles away from where we normally, took it for service. Werner's was recommended by a business acquaintance. We had it towed there, I told the tow operator it was probably the starter. When I arrived at Werner's I told them I thought it was the starter. When the mechanic called me I asked if he had checked the starter. He had not. He told me it needed a tune-up, for about 370.00. When I questioned again about the starter he repeated it needed a tune-up. I agreed. The following day after performing the work he called to say that he checked and it now needed a starter for approx. 300.00. So now my bill was 773.00 including an 85.00 tow charge. After I cooled off I called to say I didn't appreciate how they refused to check the starter until after the tune-up was done. Would they discount the charges ? I was told they would reduce the charge by$100.00. I go to pay and see that all they did was remove the 100.00 diagnostic fee. When I originally signed paperwork I was told the fee would not be charged if they performed the work. So not only did they take advantage once, they did it a second time. How can I assume they did anything i was told. I would never recommend this place.
