The ""tip"" for Gentle Movers is don't have unethical business practices. We were quoted $174 for 3 movers, one hour of unloading help. They showed up 4 hours late (at 7 pm), and while one out of the two (yes only two came) did do some work - the other older, fatter one mostly sat around. We had done most of the heavy stuff ourselves before they got there because we were never sure if they would ever show up. Then, after an hour, they doubled the price because they claimed it was 2.5 hours of service - that the time started from the time they left their facility (so they were charging 1.5 hours of travel time, which is ridiculous - they are located in Hyde Park, this was a Chelsea unload, it takes like 15 minutes). When we argued, the older man started SHOUTING at us. Then the younger one said call their supervisor, and apparently he told them to have me sign the slip, mark ""disputing,"" and we would work out the charges on Monday, but again, this guy was mad because he says he won't get paid. The person on the phone who quoted the price NEVER SAID the clock started from the time they left. Very shady company...
