Atascocita Car Care and Collision is by far the worst shop you can go to (this review is backed up with receipts and documented communication with the insurance company):\r I have insurance with State Farm and this is a State Farm Direct Referral Program (DRP) shop, so they sent me here. The body shop took over 3 weeks to give me a written estimate. \r Day after the car was fixed I noted weird smell and noise from the ventilation system. I took it back to the shop and they said it was leaking AC condenser. While they fixed that they topped off the radiator. At that point I even asked why the radiator was low since they just replaced it and should have filled it up….and the guy just shrug his shoulder and didn’t have an answer. Once AC is fixed I drive home and still have smell and noise…well it turns out the heater core was leaking. I took the car back to the shop, but the body shop said it’s not accident related. I know why they did that…they didn’t want send a supplemental bill to the insurance company for heater core repair which they should have diagnosed right the first time. Supplements look bad for DRP shops….insurance companies really doesn’t like supplements from body shops. Furthermore, in this case a supplement would look bad since the car should have been totaled to begin with….hence Atascocita Car Care and Collision claimed heater core was not related to the accident. \r I contacted Honda of America and an independent mechanic and they both said a blown engine (due to the accident) could also blow the heater core….so this was accident related. None the less I had to pay out of pocket to repair the heater core and chase State Farm for reimbursement via small claims court. Eight months later State Farm finally settled and paid me back. \r I had the body shop fix the heater core since towing the vehicle somewhere else would have cost a ton. Well they didn’t even bother cleaning up the spilled fluid on the driver’s side floor. They tried to give me a dirty, damp interior that smelled like coolant. So I had to leave the car there. When I finally picked up the car 2 days later it was still dirty and damp but this time I had enough and decided to dry the interior myself. \r Less than 2 months later the alternator goes out. I didn’t think it was related to the accident until the mechanic showed me that the alternator cable was not tightened by the body shop hence it was arcing and burned out the alternator. This could have also led to a fire…and potentially dangerous situation for my wife who drives the vehicle. I contacted State Farm and the body shop, they admitted guilt and paid me back for the alternator…but it was still a hassle and time lost on my part. Furthermore, the shop owner has the balls to tell me not to contact the insurance company but just deal with him directly….WELL MR. OWNER….YOU HAVE NOT EARNED THE RIGHT TO ANY COURTESY FROM ME…A CUSTOMER WHO HAS HAD TO PUT UP WITH YOUR CRAPPY SERVICE, BS ATTITUDE, AND ABSOLUTELY UNAPOLOGETIC DEMEANOR. \r I HAVE COMPLAINED TO STATE FARM ABOUT THEIR PREFERRED SHOP AND I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THESE PEOPLE….ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERCVICE AND NO ETHICS. I ADVISE EVERYONE TO STAY AWAY…. more
