Happy 2014!! I've been meaning to get on here and write a review for some time now. But, alas, time gets away from all of us when we work, raise our kiddos, take care of our homes and then get up and do it again and again. I'm going to also post this on a few other review sites. I tend to do that when I really believe in something. \r \r My experience with Maria and her staff has been more like developing a lifelong friendship than just a session with a photographer that will take a few pics and then just ""forget about it"", (enter Soprano accent here...) lol :) We never felt rushed and she really took the time to get to know my daughter... to really capture her essence on film. And she certainly did. I wish I would have met her sooner. I look back at the pics of my kids in the photo album that were taken it seems so long ago... but it's only been 10 years or so. When I walked into Sears and they took the same shot over and over with the same backdrops. Kids in line, as we try to, as parents... keep their hair from getting all mussed up from the impatience, wanting OUR kids to look perfect once it was our turn. My son holding a rubber duckie and posing a wooden bucket... which is something that he would never do. He is still, to this day, a 'germophobe'. Fast forward to the pics with Studio M with Maria... and the pics of my daughter had things in it, interesting poses and locations...that reflected her true personality. My daughter's senior pictures were incredible. I've kept an eye on Maria's work via her website & FB over the years and fall in love with many of her ideas. The one with a tattooed soldier holding his newborn... skin to skin, not showing the soldier's face, but showing his incredible muscular strength but yet the gentle baby-holding care for the little guy that was probably born when he was away fighting for our country. Maybe that wasn't the case. That's the point. It's the wonderment that she creates in her pictures that anyone viewing them, is captivated. The close family and friends know the real story... but anyone looking at that picture, wonders and imagines the story behind it. That's the artistic magic. \r \r I think that is the difference. Maria is an artist. She blends her passion for people and pictures and the results can be breathtaking. The pictures that I have, still in my office, even though my daughter is now in her 20s... those pictures capture her true essence and they will live on forever They will be looked at way down the road, maybe even 100-200 hundred years from now... and our future generations are going to look back and be able to say, ""Wow... no wonder we are so dang good looking... Great Great Great Grandma was hot!"" And it from with an artist's eye that my daughter's beautiful senior images were captured. \r \r They aren't just photos, they truly are heirlooms. Anyone with an iphone or digital camera can take a picture. What I received, was so well worth the money and is an heirloom that will live on and on. Thank you Maria for your professionalism and sharing your gifts & talents. I know you continuously educate yourself, as I've watched you win awards over the years, being recognized by your industry. And I've watched as you just get better and better. Keep posting on Facebook!! My whole family loves seeing your new ideas and how you capture the human spirit. We'll be in touch soon as my son's senior year approaches. I'm just sorry you don't do weddings! Snap on!!! \r more
