Editorial review from Citysearch 12/20/2013

My husband and I have lived at Lake Vista for 6 months and unfortunately have to leave due to military orders. In general our stay here has been nice. We looked at every apartment complex we could find in Loveland, Ft. Collins, and Greeley and Lake Vista is the best (Sorry McWhinney, I know you own a lot of the other properties). The pigeon problem mentioned in previous reviews was something we looked for when we moved in and it didn't seem to be a problem, and still isn't. \r I love the location! I'm a city girl, so Loveland is a little country for me, but having the malls so close by and target within walking distance it works out. But the view is amazing! The mountain view makes walking the trails so much more delightful! \r They have a community garden that, sadly, we didn't get to partake in. We did look at our neighbors' work and it seems like so much fun! Definitely something not every place has. \r The crew here does amazing work keeping the place looking nice. Landscaping is somewhat sparse, but based on our experience with the weather here, it makes sense. \r We've only contacted maintenance once since we've moved in. They arrived within an hour of us contacting them. (The previous tenants left glass in the disposal). But everything else in the apartment seems to be working perfectly. And it helps that they are nice appliances! \r Parking seems to be an issue at every apartment complex, but I've been really happy with how management here has dealt with it. They have painted visitor parking spaces and given stickers to residents for their car. AND they follow through with it. Since the change, I haven't had a problem finding a parking spot no matter what time of day. \r I do have a few complaints, and coming from a military spouse that has lived in MANY apartments, that's a good thing. \r The biggest thing is that you currently cannot pay rent online. I know they are working on that, but until then prepare to pay the old fashioned way. \r The other problem is lack of doggy bag/trash cans throughout the community. There are plenty of bags by the lake that are always full, but none throughout the community. We just grab a few extra bags while we're down there and use them closer to our apartment. Unfortunately, most other tenants do not do the same and do not pick up after their pets. I can't blame the complex for a few bad apples. They also do not have a dog park area on premises, which kind of stinks if you have a furry family member, but with the lake/trails right there, you both get exercise! \r With that said, I do not personally find the amenity fee worth it. It's kind of like buying a gym membership and not going (which I do every time I buy a gym membership), but the pool is really nice and so is the gym. So don't be like me. Pay the fee and enjoy it. \r Some reviews have mentioned that the office staff are not as nice to you once you sign the lease. My husband and I had a little misunderstanding with them regarding our military move, but the manager has gone above and beyond to help us out and we have no issues with them. They have been nice to us and are happy to answer any questions we have had while we've been here. \r We've really enjoyed our time here and if we have the opportunity to come back we would live here again more
