My experience in the school was very horrifying. The school expects the kids to behave like adults and if Boys play the regular ‘Boy’ games; the school complains. The teachers of another school next door to this one, mentioned that when these kids come to the park, they take their kids away, because they are so rowdy and the teachers just stand and watch. My son was here for 2 months for full day school (including before school and after school care). He was 3 years when he joined and I pulled him out 2.5 months later. The directress does not understand that Boys play regular boy games and that younger kids do not pick up only the good things from elder kids. When my son started doing similar rough playing (watching the kindergarteners) with kids smaller then him, then instead on working with him they though that it is the parent’s responsibility. If your child is in room 2, then the teacher in room 1 will not take any responsibility, not even reminding the child to eat his breakfast. They asked me to reduce the timing of my son so that he comes to school only during the timings of the teacher whom he was good with. Being a working parent, it was impossible for me to make that arrangement. They did not feel the need to discuss the issue in a proper way with the parents, they wrote a letter to inform of the changes, instead of talking to us in a meeting, in spite of multiple requests for meeting. The only discipline technique I know they have used is ‘time out’. They were not ready to try anything else. In spite of all this I was ready to work with them until the office administrator made a very rude remark saying that “You can come for a meeting anytime and make numerous phone calls, but you cannot pick up your son at 2? Are you really working?” I have heard from similar complaints about her from other parents too. My son started in another Montessori after having a bad experience with this one, and he is blossoming there. He is busy all day and the teachers actually do the teaching in Montessori way, by steering the kids in proper direction. It might have been a good school earlier, but I would suggest to stay away from the school now. All the school now has is good kids from good families. There is no management, and no communication from the directress.
