We are here in Auburn on a tour of gold country - the restaurant next door to our motel was mobbed so we walked to the next restaurant down the street and were delighted with the delicious meal we had at Lou La Bonte's. The prime rib special - smaller portion 8 oz - was more than enough and the horse radish sauce was really perfect. Great veggies, salad and garlic mashed potatoes. Ater four days on the road this place really hit the spot. Cost much less than meals in Sacramento Old Town and the flavor and quality was far better. Staff were personable and professional and made our evening a delight.
