I just read your tip, and would like to offer my sincere apology for your poor experience. I can understand how you feel, and would have been upset myself if I’d taken a day off from work only to find that my doctor’s office had cancelled my appointment. And, you are so right, in these economic times, taking a day off does put a financial strain on most of us. I am glad that you took the time to share your experience because, otherwise, I would not have been aware of how having your appointment cancelled had affected you.\r

What you may not be aware of is the fact that, I was incapacitated with the flu from Saturday April 28th through Tuesday May 1st. Each day I awakened with the hope that I would be able to get up and get back to my patients, but for four straight days I was unable to even sit upright. It is a very rare occasion that I get sick, and even rarer that I miss a day in the office due to illness. In fact, my staff was shocked that I was unable to make it to the office two days in a row. The front-desk staff waited until 8:10 to call you because they were confident that I would not be able to stay out of the office another day. But, they were wrong. I feel that when someone entrusts me to perform a delicate and very technique sensitive procedure, such as root canal treatment, they deserve to have me operating at my best. Since I was clearly far from being my best, I knew that if I did come into the office I would risk the well-being of my patients and my team. So, I decided to stay home and reschedule my patients. Please accept my apology for the inconvenience and strain that I caused for you.\r

Although you never did make it to my office, I would like to invite you to come in if you have any root canal needs in the future. If you do decide to give us another chance I am confident that you will see that my team and I care greatly about the comfort and well-being of our patients. And, we work very hard to provide our patients with the finest level of treatment and try to make each patient’s experience a positive one. \r
Sincerely, Joseph Katsarsky, D.M.D.\r
