Turned into another money grab poor workmanship shop. #1: Took my F250 in to fix a fuel bowl leak and Idle problem. Cambridge wanted $770.34 to correct the fuel bowl leak, replace fuel return lines, pressure regulator and electrical harness but could not tell me this would fix the problem and that more $$$ would be required if that didn't work. I told Tony I was surprised Cambridge did not have better diagnostics and I declined the work. With a little research on the internet I found a common problem was a bad IPC sensor. I bought one from Grande Truck Center for $143.64 and installed it myself. I tightend the hoses on the fuel bowl and I'm up and running with no problems. #2: Went to replace the thermostat on my Malibu last night and noticed the air intake duct to throttle body was loose and the air filter housing was laying there unsecured. The air filter housing had been forcibly taken out without first removing the 2 screws and rubber grommets. I went back through my service records and found where I paid Cambridge $327.70 on 10/1/12 to flush the transmission. The air filter housing and intake duct had been removed to access the transmission vent/fill cap. It appears the mechanic did not take time to properly remove and replace the air filter housing and intake duct. I've spent a lot of $ at Cambridge over the years but that has come to an end. It seems after Mr. Gehrlein passed Cambridge took a turn for the worse. I sure miss Steve. more
