This was a very difficult procedure, eight crowns all in a row, starting with a combination of old crowns, some original teeth, and some veneers. Since the time needed was estimated at four-and-one-half hours, Dr. Coats and crew came in on a Friday, normally their day off. Turns out the procedure took them six-and-one-half hours, but they were determined to do it right, with no short-cuts. Extra care was taken to insure reasonable comfort: pain pills before starting, nitrous oxide, and a TENS unit to provide mild electrical stimulation that relaxes jaw and neck muscles. Only negative was that the novocain injection didn't last quite long enough, so my gums were pretty sensitive while they were fitting and securing the temps in place. The whole staff was pleasant and thoughtful throughout a very long and tiring day, making it as ""good as it could be.""
